Sophie came to us at a difficult time – my mom passed away 3 months after we got Sophie; therefore, she was with me during my grieving and we bonded instantly. I used to whisper in her ear how safe she was, how loved and special she was, and how I would always take good care of her. She always got very still when I was telling her these things; I know she knew exactly what i was telling her. When she was 6 my husband (her fun parent) passed away, so she and I mourned together. I have had dogs all my life, and loved them all so much. But Sophie was my soul dog, and there will never be another like her. We helped her go to heaven with Dr. Nancy on Jan 3, 2025, at the age of 16. She was a trooper and my dearest friend; I miss her terribly every day. She was a blessing to all who knew her. How blessed she and I both were to have Dr. Nancy be there for us through this sad journey. Heaven is now a very lucky place , to have her.
