Pepper
Kay D
Poem I wrote Pepper when she passed.
In the heart of our garden, amidst blooms and green,
Lived a black cat, our friend, with a presence serene.
For twenty years she graced our days,
With her zen-like presence and gentle ways.
A knitting buddy, soft by our side,
As yarn and needles in harmony glide.
Her diesel motor purr, a balm to the soul,
Healing our hearts, making us whole.
Through life’s storms and sunny days,
She turned bad days to good in tender ways.
With just one snuggle, one gentle touch,
She gave us comfort, love, so much.
A wise old friend with fur of night,
In her embrace, all felt right.
Her legacy lives on, in every purr,
Our garden, our knitting, will always remember her.
