Here is a poem I wrote when she passed.
A Survivor’s Heart
My cat of twenty years did say goodbye today,
In a world now strangely quiet, where shadows softly play.
xsA friend with eyes of wisdom, in fur both gray and white,
A survivor’s tale unfolded, as our bond would not grow old.
Through trials and tribulations, you stood so brave and true,
With each purr, each gentle nuzzle, you whispered, “I’m with you.”
You taught me strength and courage, in the darkest of my days,
To stand tall and push forward, to find light within the haze.
Now the house feels colder, without your steadfast grace,
But I carry on, my heart still warm from your embrace.
You taught me how to weather storms, to rise and face the fight,
For in your quiet presence, you made my burdens light.
Though you’ve crossed that rainbow bridge, your spirit lingers near,
In every soft and silent purr, I’ll always feel you here.
My best friend and my teacher, through years both tough and bright, You taught me to keep going, even when the world feels tight.
So, rest now, little warrior, in fields of endless play,
Your legacy of resilience remains with me each day.
For in your gentle paw prints, etched deep within my soul,
You’ve given me the strength to fight, to dream, and to be whole.
